The first thing most of the Indians arriving in Australia do is to get a driving license. However, its a tiresome and difficult path to obtain a driving license if you were to get one here directly. First one has to write a driving knowledge test, then obtain a learners license.There after you have to pass a driving test in one of the closest RMS centers post which you will receive a P1 (provisional driving license if less than 25 yrs of age). You need to hold this provisional license for 2 years and then graduate to P2 which lasts for 1 year. You may directly receive a P2 if you are more than 25 years of age. However, if you already have an overseas license (in this case Indian license) you can directly convert your license to Australian one after you pass a driving test.
